Sourdough Bread, Old Cheddar
Sosnicki's Old Cheddar Sourdough Bread! We use L' Ancetre's old cheddar in this bread as the ultimate cheese inclusion!
Classic blonde type with inclusion made with our in-house starter that Farmer Jess scratch made on farm. We use Oak Manor organic unbleached bread flour to craft our breads. Glyphosate is a big deal on wheat fields now a days so we don't play games with the flour we use - organic from Oak Manor only.
Our bread is a 3 day process and we bake fresh the day we pack your veggie baskets! We feed the starter the evening before we make the loaves. Day 2 we mix, stretch and fold, rise the dough and then shape the loaves. We then refrigerate the loaves overnight, score and bake on day 3 :)
Compared to commercial yeast bread sourdough is said to be easier to digest, lower glycemic impact, better nutrient absorption, support gut health as the fermentation process produces lactic acid and beneficial bacteria, fewer preservatives as well.
